Learning Coaching
1:1 learning coaching for SEND students in Watford and surrounding areas.
Study sessions uniquely designed to support the student to overcome their specific barriers to successful learning, informed by 8 years of learning, training and experience working in SEND support. I achieve this by identifying the individual’s existing strengths and harnessing these to address their current weaknesses in ways that are approachable, enjoyable and sustainable in the long term.
Though I specialise in Maths and English interventions, my wider experience as a student and Higher Level Teaching Assistant have equipped me well to support learning in all subjects Key Stages 2-4.
At the end of each session the student will have an achievable study plan and suitable practice exercises for between then and our next booking.

‘Home’ Schooling
1:1 ‘Home’ Schooling for students in Watford and surrounding areas.
More than ever, students are unable to attend school due to their personal challenges or school suspensions. Unfortunately I’ve been witness to countless capable children and young people who haven’t been able to find their own version of success at school after extended time away from the classroom.
With these students in particular, I believe the solution to be an individually informed blend of supports that aim to improve their subject specific knowledge, study and assessment techniques, self esteem and motivation to enjoyably participate in school once they’re able to return.
My key focus for our first ‘home schooling’ sessions together is to build a trusting relationship with the student, working at their own pace and taking regular breaks from formal learning to have conversations about what excites and motivates them. This is crucial in helping work averse students to feel like approaching study with me is not like having to do school at home, which is often a necessary step towards them feeling less friction towards studying independently and attending school in the long run. Equally as important, I can then develop learning activities that harness their interests in ways that alter negative attitudes towards learning and personal growth.
